Scorpion Sting First Repsonse Free Workshop

Sunday 1st September 2024, 11am to 12:30pm. - Kloofendal Nature Reserve

Join Jonathan Leeming for a question and answer session focusing upon scorpion stings and scorpion sting first reponse. The idea is simple. Participants forward any questions that they want answering before the event. These questions will be used to direct the conversation during the session. Anything scorpion sting goes, how venom works, antivenom manufacture, first response, allergic reactions to venom, biotechnology, the latest research and more.

Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Presentation

Tuesday 10th September 2024, 4pm to 5pm. - Ngwenya Lodge

This Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Presentation provides a unique structured framework that will greatly reduce the risk of being stung by a scorpion, and provide the best possible outcome, should a scorpion sting occur in both humans and pets. This framework of understanding can be applied anytime and anywhere, does not require any special equipment. Essential life skills for everyone who may encounter a scorpion at home, at work or in the environment.

This event to free to attend. Donations for Wild And Free Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre will be taken. Further details nearer the event.

Creepy Crawly Walk

Saturday 21st September, 8am to 10am. Kloofendal Nature Reserve

Join Jonathan Leeming on a 2 hour morning walk at Kloofendal Nature Reserve during which, participants will be introduced to some of the creepy crawlies that inhabit the reserve such as spiders, insects and scorpions. This popular event teaches conservation, understanding and respect for all creatures. All animals are released back into where they came from. This event is suitable for the whole family. Approximate walking distance is 3km.

Saturday 21st September 11am to 1pm, Kloofendal Nature Reserve, Johannesburg

Join Jonathan Leeming on a 2 hour morning walk at Kloofendal Nature Reserve during which, participants will be introduced to some of the creepy crawlies that inhabit the reserve such as spiders, insects and scorpions. This popular event teaches conservation, understanding and respect for all creatures. All animals are released back into where they came from. This event is suitable for the whole family. Approximate walking distance is 3km.

Spider & Scorpion First Aid Workshop

Sunday 22nd September, 8am to 10:30pm, Kloofendal Nature Reserve, Johannesburg

The spider and scorpion first aid walk is a practical exploration of a natural area in search of spiders and scorpions. We’ll have a short in the field presentation with visuals, and a interactive Spider & Scorpion First Response Workshop Activity. The walk covers topics such as identification, symptoms, first aid and where to get free medical advice if you ever need it. Based upon the essential spider bite and scorpion sting first response framework.

Anything venom related goes, from bites and stings, how venom works, antivenom manufacture, first response, allergic reactions to venom, biotechnology, the latest research and more.
