Join Jonathan Leeming on an exciting day time exploration in search of all kind of animals that creep and crawl. It will be a morning of spiders, scorpions, insects, frogs, toads and if we are lucky snakes! This family event is both fun and educating.

The Biomimicry Walk focuses upon how wherever there has been a challenge, nature has found a way to conquer it. Since humans live under the same laws of nature and under the same conditions, it makes sense that we learn from the inner workings of the natural world and ask the question, how can we live a happier, healthier and more meaningful life?

The Nature Works Walk focuses upon the inner workings of the natural world through an exploration of systems and relationships. The focus is on concepts such as biodiversity, ecosystem services, climate change, the value of nature, how weather works, biomimicry and biotechnology.

The spider bite and scorpion sting first aid workshop is an exploration of the environment during which you’ll get to have a look at look at spiders and scorpions that inhabit the area. We’ll have a short lecture with visuals on medically important spiders and scorpions and their bites and stings. This workshop offers participants a fundamental understanding of spider bites and scorpion stings including identification, symptoms, first aid and where to get free medical advice if you ever need it.
