Venom Day is a FREE to attend interactive session focused upon community education about venomous animal bites and stings. Participants contribute to the agenda by submitting questions. Anything goes from snake bite, spider bite and scorpion sting as well as the status and availability of antivenom. This is a free event however places are limited. Book online. Suitable for children 13 years and older.

Based upon the content of Jonathan Leeming's book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Book, the Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course offers a new and innovative science-based first response framework that addresses the burden of scorpion stings in Southern Africa. This first response framework that includes a new symptom classification scheme that defines boundaries, indicate response, the progression of symptoms and timeframes, how to recognise symptoms that can be treated using first aid, and when professional medical intervention is required. First aid protocols are given to all participants. Professional development that offers the knowledge and understanding to assume a leadership role in their organisation and local community.

Jonathan Leeming will be part of a specialist team from South africa, participating in a medical outreach programme. This programme is focused upon the medical treatment of snake bite, spider bite and scorpion sting in Mozambique. Jonathan will be focusing upon spider bite and scorpion stings within the context of Mozambique, help setup protocols and kick start a new understanding of envenomation.

On the 12th September, Jonathan will be speaking at the annual general meeting of EcoGlen, situated in the heart of urban Pretoria East, running along the Moreleta Spruit and the Waterkloof Spruit, between January Masilela Drive and Lynnwood Road, within the suburb of Lynnwood Glen. For further details please go to https://www.ecoglen.org.za

The essential scorpion sting first response course offers a new and innovative science-based first response framework that addresses the burden of scorpion stings in Southern Africa across all levels of society. The contents represent a huge leap forward in our understanding of scorpions and scorpion stings. This course is suitable for professional career driven individuals and organisations. Includes supporting resources.

Jonathan will be leading a creepy crawly walk for the Crocodile river reserve on the 19th September. The walk is suitable for all ages and consists of an exploration of the environment for creepy crawlies. Along the way, Jonathan will throw in ow venom works,  biotechnology, biomimicry, first aid and values and beliefs.
