Scorpions of Southern Africa was published in 2003. As the first ever book on southern African scorpions, it's publication heralded a new era in scorpion conservation and understanding.
As the first book on scorpions of the general public, it's publication highlighted the value of biodiversity and role that all animals and plants play in the greater scheme of things. Prior to the book being published, there was almost no information written about these animals that was available to the general public. Since the publication of Scorpions of SA, I can see how the interest in these animals has grown, fuelled by knowledge and an understanding, many books contain sections of scorpions.
