Jonathan Leeming is setting up a visit to the Hoedspruit area during the end of September 2026 for a series of private and public scorpion sting first response courses and events. The focus is on developing knowledge and understanding to step up to the leadership challenge of scorpion sting first response in an area that experiences its fair share of medically important stings.
I'll be putting a schedule together for September 2026. If you are interested in hosting a course for your staff or sending your staff to attend a public course (Hoedspruit Reptile Centre), please let me know and I will send you more details of my visit.
Host Your Own
Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course
The Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course offers a new and innovative science based first response framework that reduces the chance of being stung by a scorpion, and if there is a sting, ensures the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals. The contents of the course are based upon Jonathan’s latest book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response.
Arranging a series of courses and events in the Hoedspruit area, allows me to negate the travel cost and also offer onsite training at a reduced cost. Onsite training is also more convenient and is less disruption for you and your staff.
In instances where it may be difficult for all 8 members of staff to be away from their duties for the course, then I'm happy to present 2 courses in a day.
If you are keen for your staff to understand scorpion sting first response but time or budget does not allow for a course, then consider ordering a copy of the book (per book cost is R360 plus once off R80 courier) for your staff to share. There is also a Scorpion Sting First Response Workbook (per workbook cost is R480 plus once off R80 courier. Note that the Workbook requires the Book) which offers onsite self study. I also have public events arranged. See below for event details and links to bookings.
Identification & First Response Guide to Scorpions Of The Lowveld
The Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Book offers a new and innovative science-based first response framework that reduces the chance of being stung by a scorpion, and ensures the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals. However, one aspect that presents a hurdle to effective scorpion sting first response is scorpion identification. This poster and associated online reference, presents a unique regional identification and first response guide that solves this challenge. Download the poster today!
Although the course and assessment is presented in English, the course content is presented in a visual, easy to understand and practical way without any complex language. For individuals where English is not their first language, Jonathan will be available to help individuals complete the assessment. Additional supporting materials are available for these individuals. Everyone receives a certificate for the course regardless of the final mark.
