First International Emergency Medicine Symposium

9th and 10th September, Maputo, Mozambique

I’m honoured to be part of a team of doctors and specialists from South Africa and Eswatini who are participating in Mozambique’s First International Emergency Medicine Symposium on snake bite, spider bite and scorpion sting. Scheduled for the 9th September in Maputo, this symposium is set to lay the ground work for further development of snake bite, spider bite and scorpion sting awareness and treatment in Mozambique.

The symposium is being held at the Southern Sun Maputo on the 9th September. On the morning of the 10th we are speaking to another group, and another session at the Natural History Museum in Maputo on the afternoon of the 10th. My contribution will be in presenting, hosting workshops, and providing mentorship for the way forward in addressing the burden of spider bites and scorpion stings in Mozambique.
