Jonathan will be presenting a Scorpion Sting Sting First Response Course at the Hoedspruit Reptile Centre on Sunday the 8th February 2026 from 10am to 1pm. The content of the course is based upon Jonathan's latest book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response which offers an innovative science based first response framework that reduces the chance of being stung by a scorpion, and if there is a sting, how to ensure the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals.

The Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course offers a new and innovative science-based first response framework that addresses the burden of scorpion stings in Southern Africa, by offering individuals the knowledge and understanding to assume a leadership role in their local community.

Course duration is 3 hours in length and consists of a presentation, followed by a first response workshop. Participants write a multiple choice assessment, all participants will receive a certificate and supporting resources. 

Please note that it is not necessary to have a copy of the Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Book. However, copies of the book and workbook will be available for purchase before and after the course. Card facilities will be available. You can reserve your signed copy when booking for the course.
