Jonathan will be presenting a Scorpion Sting Sting First Response Course at the Hoedspruit Reptile Centre on Sunday the 8th February 2026 from 10am to 1pm. The content of the course is based upon Jonathan's latest book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response which offers an innovative science based first response framework that reduces the chance of being stung by a scorpion, and if there is a sting, how to ensure the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals.
The Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course offers a new and innovative science-based first response framework that addresses the burden of scorpion stings in Southern Africa. It offers individuals the knowledge and understanding to assume a leadership role in their organisation and local community.
Course duration is 3 hours and consists of a presentation, workshop and assessment.All participants will receive a certificate and supporting resources.
Please note that it is not necessary to have a copy of the Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Book. However, copies of the book will be available for purchase before and after the course. Card facilities will be available. You can reserve your signed copy when booking for the course.
The course is being hosted at Hoedspruit Reptile Centre on the 8th February from 10am to 1pm. The course cost includes entrance to the Reptile Centre. Course is presented in English and consists of a presentation, workshop, assessment, certificate and supporting resources. Writing instruments will be provided. Although aimed at adults, children younger than 13 may attend as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Assessment results will be emailed to participants within 3 days after the course. Places are limited. Payment in full ensures your place on the course.
Please note that cancellations on or before the 25th January will receive a full refund. A 50% refund for cancellations on or before the 1st February. No refund for cancellations after the 1st February. Refunds will be paid our 3 days after the course date.
