Jonathan Leeming is setting up a visit to the Hoedspruit area during August 2026 for a series of private and public scorpion sting first response courses and events. The focus is on developing knowledge and understanding to step up to the leadership challenge of scorpion sting first response in an area that experiences its fair share of medically important stings.
I'll be putting a schedule together for August 2026. If you are interested in hosting a course for your staff or sending your staff to attend a public course (Hoedspruit Reptile Centre), please let me know and I will send you more details of my visit.
Host Your Own
Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course
The Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course offers a new and innovative science based first response framework that reduces the chance of being stung by a scorpion, and if there is a sting, ensures the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals. The contents of the course are based upon Jonathan’s latest book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response.
Arranging a series of courses and events in the Hoedspruit area, allows me to negate the travel cost and also offer onsite training at a reduced cost. Onsite training is also more convenient and is less disruption for you and your staff.
In instance where it may be difficult for 8 members of staff to be away from their duties for the course, then I'm happy to present 2 courses in a day, or 2 courses over 2 days. No additional cost except i would stay an additional night. Smaller lodge operations can host a course and invite neighbouring lodges to participant. I would set up online booking and payments for this.
I have 2 books and a distance learning course that support the Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Course. It is not required to have copies of these books as supporting resources are given to participants, however they are a valuable reference for anyone who completes the course.
You are welcome to order copies of the books and forgo the training.
Although the course and assessment is presented in English, the course content is presented in a visual, easy to understand and practical way without any complex language. For individuals where English is not their first language, Jonathan will be available to help individuals complete the assessment. Additional supporting materials are available for these individuals. Everyone receives a certificate for the course regardless of the final mark.
