Scorpion Sting First Response Professional Development Programme

This programme brings together the following components to form a professional development programme, separated into different sections:

• Distance learningEssential Scorpion Sting First Response Distance Learning with onsite presentation, workshop, assessment and certification.
• Arachnid Course.

Typically, an onsite training date is finalised. Participants are given the training manual and workbook a month or so before onsite training date. Workbooks are completed in the participants own time and at their own pace. 

During onsite training, participant workbooks are assessed, a presentation and workshop is given. Participants write and assessment and certificates of competence are issued. Spider Bite First Response can also be covered. 

Participants also have the opportunity to partake in an Arachnid course. This gives the participants a deep understanding of the local arachnids which ultimately supports first response.

Onsite training

• Assessment of workbooks.
• Presentation.

• Assessment.
• Scorpion Sting First Response Certification to all participants who pass the assessment.

Arachnid course

• Practical field work.
• Natural history of arachnids.
• Identification workshop.
• Pitfall traps.

Certificates issued:
