The idea behind Venom Day is simple. Participants book for this free event and forward any questions that they want answering before the event. Subject matter experts are invited to the event to offer heir wisdom and insight. These questions will be used to direct the conversation during the session. Anything venom or treatment related goes! How venom works, antivenom manufacture and use, current status of envenomation research in Southern Africa, new approaches to spider bites, scorpion stings, snakebites, centipede bites, jellyfish stings, sting ray stings. First response techniques and the best places to ask for advice.
Please note that Venom Day consists of adult themes and is not suitable for children under 12 year old.
Venom Day is a free community event aimed at increasing awareness of venomous animals and reducing the burden of bites and stings.
I'm on a mission to reduce the burden of spider bites and scorpion stings across Southern Africa!
