My focus is on spider bites and scorpion stings as well as the natural history of spiders and scorpions. I focus upon the conservation value of spiders and scorpions, and spiders and scorpion in the guided experience, and first response within the lodge environment.
You'll notice below that the main focus is on Scorpion Sting First Response. This is only because of the book, which provides structured content from which to draw from. My Essential Spider Bite First Response Books will be available in the first quarter of 2026, then the FREE online course, workbook, in person course and supporting resources.
There are a number of ways to impart training, depending on budget and time, as outlined below.
Distance learning offers participants training in their time and at their own pace.
Distance learning offers a cost effective and easy to implement training programme for guides regardless of the area of operation. This training material is applicable to Southern Africa.
Onsite training offers the most effective training experience for the participants. Focusing on the local arachnids including spider bites and scorpion stings.

Professional development consists of combined distance learning and onsite training. It offers the best use of the participant time and also the best use of my time.
Onsite training is scheduled to commence on a specific date. Participants receive the distance learning material before the onsite training date and complete the learning material. When onsite, I can go through the workbooks, arrange a presentation and workshop. Participants write an assessment. The Arachnid Course offers a practical perspective of spiders and scorpions that are onsite.
Certificates are courier to the training site after the site visit.
