Workshops are interactive sessions that incorporate some kind of activity to encourage participation and exploration of the subject. These sessions are suitable for small to very large groups and can be facilitated on a one to one basis or as part of a formal conference presentation. Facilitated by Jonathan Leeming.
The spider and scorpion first aid workshop is a practical exploration of a natural area in search of spiders and scorpions. We’ll have a short in the field presentation with visuals, and an interactive Spider & Scorpion First Response Workshop Activity. The walk covers topics such as identification, symptoms, first aid and where to get free medical advice if you ever need it. Based upon the essential spider bite and scorpion sting first response framework.
The Spider & Scorpion First Response Workshop Activity focuses upon medically important spiders and scorpions, and the the basics of spider bite and scorpion sting first response. This interactive session can be from 10 minutes to 1 hour in duration, and can be presented anywhere, out in the field, in a classroom session and as a formal or informal activity. It is a fun and interactive way to learn. The content is based upon a new first response framework developed by Jonathan Leeming.
Join Jonathan Leeming for a question and answer session focusing upon venomous animals and their bites and stings. The idea is simple. Participants ask the questions and Jonathan and panel members will answer them. These questions will be used to direct the conversation during the session. Anything venom related goes, from bites and stings, how venom works, antivenom manufacture, first response, allergic reactions to venom, biotechnology, the latest research and more.
